The election results, in fulla career compounded annually, in the wrong direction

Justin Barrett has contested three European Parliament elections and one Dáil by-election. The two figures the record fixes most firmly are 10,997 and 183. The plain tally is below; no commentary is required, only arithmetic.

I. The arc, in three numbers

The plain electoral record — the candidate's first-preference votes, then the attendance at the meeting called to dismiss him. No commentary required:

Twenty years of momentum

10,997 First-preference votes
European Parliament
East constituency, 2004
183 First-preference votes
Dublin Bay South
by-election, 2021
1 Persons attending
the September 2024 “AGM”
called to dismiss him

A career compounded annually, in the wrong direction. The trajectory is not editorial; it is arithmetic.

II. The tally, contest by contest

  • 2004 — European Parliament, East constituency. Stood as an independent. 10,997 first-preference votes (2.4%). Not elected. ElectionsIreland.org Wikipedia
  • 2021 — Dublin Bay South by-election. Stood under the campaign slogan “Right So Far”. 183 first-preference votes (0.68%), finishing 11th of 15 candidates, eliminated on the third count. Wikipedia RTÉ Election Results
  • European Parliament — further contests. The candidate record lists three European Parliament campaigns in total; the full per-election breakdown is held on his ElectionsIreland candidate page. ElectionsIreland.org Wikipedia

III. The non-electoral postscript

The third figure on the scoreboard is not a vote count. In September 2024 a purported meeting of the National Party, called in part to deal with his leadership, was attended in person by one person. The Electoral Commission ruled that meeting invalid, but later confirmed his removal on other grounds in 2025. The party context is on the National Party page. The Journal Electoral Commission

No vote total has been invented or estimated; where a per-election figure is not stated here, it is because it is held on the linked candidate record rather than reproduced.
